Description

I'm Joel Stern, coordinator of Pacific Ocean Paperfolders (POP). We usually meet once a month for 3 hours on the 4th Sunday, from 1-4 PM at the Roxbury Park Recreation Center in Beverly Hills.

During this period of social distancing, however, we will be meeting every 2 weeks -- on Sundays for 2 hours from 1-3 PM PDT.

For each session, I will prepare about 5-6 simple-to-intermediate level models to teach using my Ipevo camera, which points down at the table and is great for demonstrating desktop actions. Others are encouraged to teach as well.

At the April 19 session, Gerardo (aka "neorigami") from Colombia will be teaching how to fold a tatorilla. Click here for a picture.

To make one you will need the following:

  • one tortilla (ideally 10'' diameter, but you can make a small appetizer from a 6'' one)
  • a bit of drinking water to moisten.
  • something for the tatortilla's filling: for example, sauces, cheese, sliced mushrooms, veggies, sausage, shredded chicken, or even fruit, if you want to make a sweet tatortilla. PLEASE have everything already sliced and shredded.
  • Griddle or similar to toast the tatortilla a little bit.
  • Two spoons (optional): I fold the tatortillas using one spoon in each hand to avoid touching too much the tortilla, but you can fold yours with your hands if you prefer.
