Origami class schedules for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are being set up as classes are entered during the registration period. The schedules are published in the week before convention: the preliminary schedule on the preceding weekend, and the final schedule on the Tuesday before convention. Note that the schedules are for your information only -- to help you in selecting the classes you want to take. Actual class registration is done on site each morning.

Special Friday Lectures

POPS, our local Community Origami Group, together with OrigamiUSA is offering four Friday lectures that will be open to PCOC 2017 attendees as well as the general public in Los Angeles. Our goal is to reach out and engage people from other areas of interest in the pleasures of origami.

As a PCOC attendee, if you would like to attend these special lectures, please sign up for Friday AM and/or PM classes when you register for PCOC 2017. You will be able to get tickets for these lectures as well as other Friday classes during the regular ticketing period on Friday morning. Note: the Early Bird Package (EBP) does NOT include Friday classes.

Information for Students

Please read through the pages linked below on classroom etiquette and origami difficulty. Origami folks are, in general, a friendly and forgiving lot, but you can help keep things running smoothly by following the generally accepted norms of behavior (etiquette) and only signing up for classes at your folding level. Don't get in over your head!

Class Previews

The links below show the classes that people have volunteered to teach, provided here to give you a glimpse of what is planned (and, perhaps, to inspire you to register to teach a few classes yourself!). Please note that these are not fixed; people's plans change, and the order on the listing is merely reverse order of submission. Final class listings, with schedule and location, will be posted below in the days immediately before PCOC.

Preliminary Class Schedules

Here is the preliminary class schedule. It may change between now and the time we issue the final schedule, which will be posted on Tuesday before PCOC.

  • The final class schedule has been posted.

Final Class Schedules (Online)

Here are the final online class schedules. Each entry has a picture of the model being taught – uploaded from the class previews. Since it will be available 3 days before the actual convention, you can use it as a virtual model menu to help you plan your class choices in advance. You might even want to set up your ticketing forms (as described on the Ticketing page) before you come to PCOC. Why not consider preparing several alternatives so as to be prepared in case some of your first choices sell out while you are on the ticketing line! You can use this downloadable copy of the form. At convention, you'll be able to avoid the crowds at the physical Model Menu as well by accessing this on your laptop, tablet or phone.

Final Class Schedules and Advisories (Downloadable)

Here are the final class schedules and advisories in downloadable pdf format. Each attendee will also have the pdf versions (with the schedule enlarged) in their registration packets on site. Note: The bibliography is not included in the packets but copies will be available at the Information Desk.

Teacher Feedback

We'd very much like to get your feedback on the classes you took! Please fill out a feedback form as soon as you can after taking a class. We pass this information back to the teachers (anonymously) and use it to make improvements for next year.
