Spinning Shooting Star is an action model, a spinner, made with one sheet of square paper. The model is flat when completed, but it becomes a 3D spinner when the square at the center is shaped into a four-pointed star by using existing creases. The four-pointed star serves as a handle for the spinner. It can be flattened again for storage just by pressing the four-pointed star back into a square. This process can be repeated as many times as needed. Six inch square paper will produce a flat model that is three inches across. When shaped into a 3D spinner, it is about 2.5 inches across and ¾ inch high. Symmetrically patterned papers like Corona or Harmony will produce a completed star with a nice pattern.
