In celebration of World Origami Days, the Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC; an arm of the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C.), is hosting an exhibition, Unfolding the Universe, which runs through 27 October 2017.
With a focus on the geometry and mathematics of origami, JICC, in collaboration with the Gabriella & Paul Rosenbaum Foundation, invited a number of artists to share their works. Included in the exhibition is Robert Neale, the first president of the Friends of the Origami Center (predecessor to OrigamiUSA), one of the early creators of geometric models and an inspiration to many younger artists. Come visit JICC to view his works along with those by Sy Chen, Tom Crain, Erik & Marty Demaine, Christine Edison, Faye Goldman, Goran Konjevod, Daniel Kwan, Ekaterina Lukasheva, Ben Parker, Marc Thompson, and Arnold Tubis.
Also included in the exhibit are select geometric works from the OrigamiUSA's collection.
