Teabags
THIS CLASS IS CANCELED!
She’s back! Yes, Paula is back with another cool collection of teabag folds. You will use some small teabag folding paper and lots of bling. These models are flat so they are ideal for cards, pins and frames. Brew a cuppa and don’t throw away the wrappers. There’s more than one way a good cup of tea can reduce stress…and you’ll have fun doing it too!
Cube with Connecting Cranes
You don’t need a thousand cranes to make a gorgeous hanging decoration. Let Kathy teach you this intriguing 18-unit model that uses traditional cranes, Froebel squares, and rabbit-eared diamond modules. String it up with an additional crane for a soaring decoration. Be sure to bring a box to carry it home in.
Sanbo Flowerpot Arrangement
After April showers---come join Gay to bring in the May flowers! Gay will teach her Sanbo Flowerpot and Pocket Posy models. No glue, tape or wire are needed to make these fuss-free flower arrangements! Small 3-inch papers will be used to make the flowers, so good folding skills are required.
Fuse Star
This is a star that should be in everyone’s folding repertory. A modular star created by Tomoko Fuse and independently by Nick Robinson, it can be assembled using different numbers of modules for different looks Alice will show you how to put together 9 units for an awesome star.
Family Fun-first Time Models
Ignite your passion with these classic “first time” models. Nathan will teach as many models as time permits, starting with the Magazine Cover Box, a Swan, followed by a Fox and a paper airplane. Perhaps there will be time for a Penguin, a Dove and a Fortune Teller as well. This class is a great opportunity for families to explore the magic of origami together. No experience necessary. For children ages 5 and up. Children ages 5 – 8 must be accompanied by an adult also registered to take the class. Adults not accompanying children are also welcome!
Pop-up Box
Who doesn’t love a nice surprise! MaryAnn will teach a box that pops open and closed. Surprise, surprise, there are multilevel pop-ups inside too. This fun and fantastic model is based on one by Francis Ow as well as many versions by unknown creators. Definitely makes you think outside the box!
Tetra Box/secret Drawer Box
And what’s in this box? A seemingly innocuous-looking box holds a secret. There are actually 4 secret drawers that you can hide your treasures in. Maureen will show you the ins and outs of this model that uses 10 sheets of paper and no glue. This is a perfect way to store all those small knickknacks that spark joy.
David Brill's Fairy
Magic is in the air! Kika offers another classic origami model: the Tree Fairy by David Brill. The fairy has wings, head, arms and legs and even a dress…all from a single piece of paper. Bring a little magic into the world with origami. The model makes a great tree decoration for the holidays.
