Note: going forward I will offer only 1 pixel unit zoom class (at least for the foreseeable future). These classes will be the first Thursday of every month at 12 noon (8 p.m. GMT).
We will talk about hearts (for Valentine's Day), attaining subpixel level resolution (using "halfies"), 2D, 3D, stands, mosaics, pixel unit picture frames with wall hanging hooks, skeletons (for internal structural stability), and various types of hems (full, half, disconnected)
We will also talk briefly about the skier and my attempts to document this model (which Max left undiagrammed).
Those wanting to prepare are invited to bring prefolded pixel units to experiment with.
We will also talk briefly (in passing) about mathematics; which is unavoidable in pixel unit origami. We will do a little bit of equational logic, algebra (solving for unknowns), and I will explain why we need to be able to competently do such math if you want to design your own pixel unit models. I will be demonstrating infinite precision mathematics using a Sharp EL-W516T (solar + battery) calculator, and how to convert between type ratio, floating point exact, and floating point inexact (approximated). Those not comfortable with mathematics can safely ignore such discussions; but might find them interesting nonetheless.
