Description

Quarantine is boring. But let’s make it fun by talking about origami!

Each session we invite an amazing origami artist and talk with them about their personal journey, origami, creative process, quarantine time and much more!

About Evan Zodl: Evan is a 24-year-old origami artist from New Jersey. He has been folding paper for over 15 years, and in an effort to share his passion with the world, he began making instructional origami videos on YouTube in 2008. Since that time, he has taught origami to tens of millions of people around the globe and has developed a following of over 130,000 people. Evan has also spent many years designing original origami models inspired by fractals, spirals, and recursive patterns found in nature.

In this session, Evan will explain the process involved in creating origami tutorials from start to finish. He will discuss the benefits and challenges of teaching origami online, as well as the lessons he has learned in doing so for the past 12 years. He will also give some insight into his design process by sharing some of his original fractal, spiral, and recursive designs.

How it works:

We use the conferencing system Zoom. Please be aware that the session is being recorded and the available seats are limited to 100. We suggest you join on your laptop as the Zoom app on mobile and tablet is bit harder to work with.

Each session has 2 parts. In the first half Ali will be asking questions and for the second half you can write down your question in the chat box and we call up on your name and you will ask your question directly from the artist. We will try to go through as many questions as the time allows.
