This Reindeer is an intermediate model with 56 steps distributed in 6 pages. About 10 years ago, I was interested in creating models based on non-22.5 degrees geometry. This Reindeer is an example that was designed using a 30 degrees tiling on a near-square proportion (7:(4 x sqrt(3)) ~1.0104)*. This is the first time this diagram is being published. This model folds easily from an ordinary kami paper: a 10" near-square yields a model about 3" tall, including the horns.
*You will find out that Peter Engel's Reindeer, published in "Folding the Universe", uses the same proportions. I hope you can find out the differences.
