My origami Viking is based on the design technique of box pleating. Prior experience with reading origami diagrams is recommended but this model can be a good illustration of the role flaps play in box pleating.
There are 4 pages with instructions, containing a total of 36 steps.
The paper size needed for this model is at least 30 cm or 12 inches. The final model is about 1/5th the height of the square you started with. I recommend foil-backed paper but any moldable paper, that is capable of holding its shape, is fine. This model uses a color change to give the axe head, helmet and shield another color than the other parts of the model. Therefore a bi colored piece of paper is advisable.
This model is inspired by medieval chess pieces.
