This session features a beginner’s project – a Samurai hat or an OrigamiUSA sailboat (for a pin) or other simple model fired with a kiln-safe stone. Each student will fold a 6 cm square PMC (precious metal clay) sheet. After folding, the piece is fired for 30 minutes and the binder burns away leaving the silver origami model. PMC consists of fine silver particles held together by an organic binder. A PMC sheet is a form of metal clay made with a special binder that allows the sheet to remain flexible and be manipulated like paper. Workshop, with hands-on participation by the students.
