An annual tradition for 48 years now, the delightfully decorated Origami Holiday Tree marks the start of the holiday season at the Museum. The theme of this year’s tree is T. rex & Friends: History in the Making, based on a special exhibition about the history of Tyrannosaurus rex, as well as celebrating the AMNH’s 150th anniversary. Volunteers from around the US and the world fold throughout the year to complete creations for the tree. Also 150 select Saar Stars of the annual gifts were included on it this year. During the holidays, volunteers will be on hand to teach visitors of all ages the art of paper folding.
