Lending Library

The Lending Library is a circulating library that operates via US Mail. The collection consists primarily of out-of-print and hard-to-find books including a complete run of the Friends of the Origami Center of America and OrigamiUSA Newsletters, The Paper, and Convention Programs/Annual Collections. Here's your chance to find instructions for that rare, out-of-print model you found in the Origami Database!

Most of the books are in English. A few are in other languages, including Japanese, Spanish, and Italian. The Lending Library runs on a cost-recovery basis. Borrowing charges cover postage, packing materials, return postage, and delivery tracking and confirmation.

To borrow from the collection you must:

  • Be a current member of OrigamiUSA (and your membership must be current for the next 60 days)
  • Reside in the United States

The service uses PayPal for online payment of the borrowing charges. If you cannot or do not want to use PayPal, please see this FAQ.

  • Read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). Please read these before you make a borrowing request.
  • The Lending Library is currently on hiatus, pending appointment of a new manager. If you would be interested in taking it over, please send an email to lending-library [at] origamiusa.org.

OrigamiUSA also maintains a Research Library.
