Who says you can’t create your own origami? Ishibashi was inspired by the Sonobe unit and created an iconic modular. Now Doug Caine has further added his own variations. First, he turns the “frill” inside-out to display both sides of the paper. Then he uses 12 squares instead of six to change the original cube into a ball. Be forewarned though, the assembly is challenging. As Doug says, “the model is sturdy when complete, but before then, it can fall apart if you look at it funny!” Don’t worry, he’ll be there to help.
