Caballo means horse and this amazing 3D, freestanding horse is Alfred’s favorite. It sports a full mane and long tail. The folding sequence is fun and has one challenging sink fold. Special paper will be provided. Alfred will show you techniques so that you can make your horse jump to life by dry-folding and then wet-shaping it.
Multilayer Hexagonal Flower

Is it a flower, a snowflake, an ornament, a decoration? It can be all these things! Twist-folded from a hexagon, this wonderful model by Tomoko Fuse is a 3-layered flower with multiple petals. Variations to the center will be taught as time permits.
Kusudama Using Teabags

Add a new dimension to your kusudamas by making them out of teabags. While in Peru, Toshiko came across colorful and fanciful teabags that can be used to make the traditional Flower Kusudama. Let her show you how. And check out the photo on our website for the kusudama made using Chamomile, Coca Leaf, Cinnamon, Anise, and Peppermint tea bags. A $5 materials fee will be collected in class.

Multiform models are those that arise from a common base and lead from one model to the next. Toby will teach this wonderful set of models created by Laura Kruskal. Using rectangular paper, learn 15 connected models, including a secret letter fold, bookmark, tapered cup, bird hat, bell, clown hat, cornucopia, and more. These lend themselves to parties and fun activities with kids of all ages.
Turning Origami into Wearable Art

Get ready for an evening on the town with fabulous origami jewelry. Kathy will teach earrings and several modulars which make good bracelets when strung on elastic. Participants should bring jewelry tools if they have them: pliers and wire clippers. The class will use Modge Podge to harden the models. A $2 materials fee will be collected in class.

No need to hurry; take it easy; relax. Let Brad slowly take you through this wonderful 3D model by Robert Lang. Brad will start students off with foil but also show you how to cope with unusual papers such as wallpaper. This is a class about folding techniques as much as it is about the model itself. Come and learn techniques that will breathe life into all your animal models.

Learn a brand new design by Seth, a young creator who will teach a unique and fun rat. Unlike many other complicated models created nowadays, which require the folder to do tremendous amounts of pre-creasing, this model (reminiscent of the work of Hideo Komatsu) has a pleasurable folding sequence, and a minimal amount of sculptural artistry necessary for a pleasing finished product. Partial diagrams will be provided as well as explanations about the design process.
Pentagonal Saar Star Earrings

You’ll be the belle of the ball in these glittering earrings of pentagonal stars. Ros will discuss how to bend wires, show you different findings (hardware) that you can use and demonstrate assembly. Students should have the ability to make small, precise folds, and know a bird base, sinks, and rabbit ears. With time permitting, a crane hairclip will also be taught. A $2 materials fee will be collected in class.

Here’s what you can do with all that pretty paper sitting in your closet. Bob will show you how to make two different peacocks, one by Kitamura, and another, which has a color change in the bird and tail. Other birds will be taught as time permits.
