Parquet Tessellation Family 4-pack [pdf]

These four Parquet patterns (Closed, Semi-adjacent, 6x6, Open) were discovered in May 2020. They represent the first explorations of a family of tessellations, and have many related variations.

All but the fourth of these patterns can be folded directly from a 45-degree grid with no additional precreasing. The fourth pattern has minimal additional precreasing.

I recommend this series of patterns for anyone who enjoys the Hydrangea and Clover patterns by Fujimoto.

Crease patterns show several repeats of the motif. Red lines represent mountain folds and blue dashed lines represent valley folds.
