Kathy (Kathleen Knapp) passed away this year on March 17, 2025. She was a long-time member of Origami USA, she lived in Peoria, Illinois.
Kathy was the 2010 winner of the Ranana Benjamin Award. She received her award at Centerfold (the Central Ohio Origami Convention) in August 2010.
Kathy founded the local origami group in the Peoria Area, OPA (Origami Peoria Area), in September of 2007.
Her teaching spanned decades, including children at the Center for Prevention of Abuse, clean water celebrations, libraries, museums, scout groups, and nursing homes way too many to mention.
