It is time for our 2019 end-of-year fundraising campaign, and we are pleased to tell you that we will once again have a matching fundraiser due to the continued generosity of several members.

This year we have $5,500 for the match side, which we will receive if we can raise $11,000. Please give whatever you can --- every dollar will generate money that we need. You can donate here.

I am happy to tell you that, due in large part to the record attendance at the 2019 PCOC, we can afford to have a more modest fundraising goal this year.

Our 2019 fundraiser will have two main objectives:

  • Raise the remaining amount needed for scholarships for 2020-2021. In October we held a very exuberant scholarship fundraiser. We raised over half of the money ($6400) needed for six scholarships (two each for 2020 and 2021 NYC conventions and two for 2021 PCOC). To meet our goal, the first $5,600 we receive at year-end will be used solely for scholarship support.
  • Maintain our savings, which allows us to keep our dues low and absorb expenses in lean years rather than put the burden on the membership. This helps us to support many programs including classes like Origami Connect and Special Sessions, two magazines (The Paper and The Fold), Origami By Children, the Holiday Tree and more!

Please help us reach our goal by donating what you can by December 31, 2019. If we receive $11,000 in donations by this date we will have a total of $16,500 for the campaign.

Perhaps you are considering what to do with your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your retirement account. Please think of OrigamiUSA as a donation-worthy organization!
