Details: This butterfly was designed in 2008 for the MIT Student Origami Competition hosted annually by OrigaMIT. That year it won an award for Best Original Design. These diagrams were first published in the 15th Tanteidan Convention Book, then later in OrigaMIT's 1st Convention Book, both of which are now out of print. This model is 120 steps in a 16 page PDF, and can be best categorized as super complex. It is best folded from large foil for practice or some very thin (~25gsm) handmade paper treated with methyl-cellulose for an exhibition quality result.
