Origami shows great promise for providing insight and inspiration for future discoveries and new applications. The 3rd Symposium on Origami-Based Engineering Design builds on previous years’ symposia and will provide a venue for researchers to present their work, interact with other researchers in the field, and discuss future trends. The symposium will consist of a keynote talk, technical presentations by authors of accepted papers, and opportunities for informal discussions and networking.
As a leading forum for engineering design topics, the ASME International Engineering Design Technical Conferences (IDETC) is an ideal venue for bringing together researchers from various backgrounds. Submissions are invited from all disciplines interested in origami-based engineering design. Topics include but are not limited to origami modeling, origami design methods, enabling materials, tessellations, origami-inspired applications. Papers on related topics are encouraged.
See the Call for Papers, attached.
The Symposium schedule is now posted. Go to http://www.asmeconferences.org/IDETC2015/TechnicalProgramOverview.cfm, expand the section titled "39th Mechanisms and Robotics Conference", then expand section "MR-10 Origami-based engineering design." Or you can download a printout of that section below.
