Exploring Thick Origami

What if you want to fold something thicker than paper? I will begin with a presentation on thick foldability and a demo of a foldable LED screen of my own design utilizing the Miura Ori Tessellation and a few ideas by Charles Hoberman. The remaining time will be a workshop exploring thick origami with cardboard and tape. I will bring cardboard that I will pre-cut using a lasercutter that students will be able to use.
