Icarus

This winged figure from Greek mythology is a complex box-pleated model. Folding this involves lots of patience since at some point you need to fold the paper into a 32x32 grid, and from then on collapse the model bit by bit. Although it takes a long time to fold, it pays off when you’re done! Students should have a sense of humor, basic flight training, and be able to turn people into frogs.
