3D Triangulated Planar Surface

This model is a 3D tessellation of a repeated triangular truss structure that tiles the plane. I designed it while exploring interesting tilings of square boundaries folded only through their corners. Modifications of this planar tiling can approximate other triangulated surfaces. In this class, I will talk a little about how this model relates to my research, and then we will fold the tessellation together. A crease pattern will be provided for reference, but we will fold via instruction; no knowledge of crease patterns necessary!
