When we're folding origami animals and fold something on one side, we often need to fold the same thing on the other side. But with patterned paper, you're lucky if your finished piece has mirror symmetry -- with one side looking exactly like the other side. In other words, the other side should be a mirror copy. That's especially important for realistic looking origami butterflies. In this workshop, we explore different coloring and painting techniques to obtain mirror symmetry and ultimately we'll fold a symmetrical butterfly or two. It's simple, fun and surprising.
