3D Twist Folds and Galaxies

I will describe the link between origami and the formation of galaxies and the "cosmic web" of matter between them. "3D Twist Folds," corresponding schematically to galaxies, are generalizations of a 2D paper twist fold, but for a folding 3D manifold, and they have some interesting properties (See e.g. http://arxiv.org/abs/1408.2219). I will bring some crease patterns for a simple origami "cosmic web" tessellation, but the emphasis will be on the lecture.
