Each year OrigamiUSA presents an origami gift to staff and visitors at the lighting of the American Museum of Natural History's Holiday Tree. This ceremony takes place the week of Thanksgiving in November. The gift is a simple to low-intermediate model folded by you, our membership. The recipients of the gift are very appreciative and enjoy knowing that so many of our members participate in the folding of the gift.
We are looking for a model to compliment this year's tree - Fantastic Creatures - Mythic and Real. You may submit an original model (with diagram, hand drawn is ok) or a favorite model (stating creator, diagrammer, and referencing the book in which it appears). The deadline is August 27th.
At the end of August we'll select the model for this year. In September diagrams and paper will be mailed to all members. The diagrams of the selected model will be published in a future issue of The Paper.
Requirements:
Theme: Fantastic Creatures - Mythic and Real
Difficulty: Simple to low intermediate
Materials: One sheet of square paper - no cuts, no glue
Deadline: Postmarked no later than August 27, 2007
Address: OrigamiUSA, Attn: Annual Gift, 15 West 77th Street, New York, NY 10024-5192
