The holiday season starts with our 54th Origami Holiday Tree at the museum. The theme, New Beginnings, was inspired by their latest exhibit, Impact: The End of the Age of Dinosaurs, when an asteroid hits Earth and has life-changing results. We start with a dazzling asteroid atop the tree while dinosaurs descend down and around the tree. Modern-day animals and humans explode around them while around the base are dino skeletons and footprints as new life sprouts and abounds. Our tree designers, Ros Joyce and Talo Kawasaki, want to thank all of the many volunteers for their artistry and time, as well as the staff of OrigamiUSA and the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) who make this labor of love possible and an ongoing tradition.
