I have served as an OrigamiUSA Board Member for the past 14 years. During this time I have tried to expand the reach of many OrigamiUSA programs. In addition to founding OrigamiUSA's online magazine, The Fold, I have been involved in many other initiatives including: the online submissions process, the online downloads exchange, introduction of an online membership, removing the distinction between the local and remote board members, reorganizing our interaction with Community Origami Groups, and exploring future expansion of online content, including organizing the FoldFest online event for four years. Each of these initiatives seek to broaden the interaction between OrigamiUSA, the origami community, and beyond.

I served as Board Treasurer from 2015-2019, and Board Chair since 2019. As Treasurer, I worked to restructure our booking and budgeting processes, producing tools to generate automated visual financial reports to facilitate monthly analysis. As Chair, I have worked to restructure Board Meetings to be more action/decision-focused.

While the pace of change in our organization is slow, recent years have seen substantial growth of our board and programs. I would like to continue helping guide OrigamiUSA in new and exciting directions. I promise to keep an open ear to the desires of the entire membership, and work to support initiatives that expand the ability of folders to interact, and expand the role of origami in people's lives. I would appreciate your support.

I've had the privilege of being a member since 2009 and a board member since 2015. Over the years, I've learned that while change can be slow, it is absolutely possible. In the past decade, our board has seen remarkable growth, with significant program restructures, new initiatives, and at times, the decisions to change or phase out programs that were no longer serving our goals. I am incredibly proud to have played a role in this evolution and am committed to continuing to contribute to OUSA's ongoing development.

As we move forward, I pledge to remain an active voice—not only by sharing my own opinions but, more importantly, by representing the voices of our members. Please don't hesitate to reach out—whether by writing to me or stopping to chat in person. Your feedback is invaluable, and I am here to listen and advocate for all of you. I would like to offer my candidacy as an incumbent for the 2025 OrigamiUSA Board of Directors.

I’ve had the privilege of serving on the OrigamiUSA Board since 2023 and as Co-Chair of the board for the past year. During this time, I have focused on projects that increase OrigamiUSA’s connection with the paperfolding community, often with a focus on younger members. Some of the projects I lead include the 2024 OrigamiUSA Community Survey, our quadrennial membership satisfaction survey, and the OrigamiUSA Scholarship Program, which provides opportunities to convention for outstanding young people. Additionally, I am Co-chairing two new OrigamiUSA initiatives: the new Junior Board which is accepting its first round of applicants this summer and creaselines, OrigamiUSA’s recently launched monthly newsletter.

It is my desire to see OrigamiUSA to continue being a welcoming organization and become even more innovative and adaptable as we create additional value for our members. We have many opportunities to expand our offerings and synergize our processes to ensure the continued success of OrigamiUSA for years to come, and I request your continued support for my position on the OrigamiUSA Board of Directors.
