This is a listing of the Special Sessions for June 14, 2026, both morning and afternoon sessions.
Butterflies
Flitter about with these fabulous flutterbys. Donna will teach a veritable conservatory of butterflies by Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander. Many start from a base that can be changed to produce variations that are limited only by your own imagination. Best made from duo paper, these magnificent creatures will let your creativity soar. All feature a realistic and delicate body with gorgeous wings.
Penguin Box
OK, it may be Fall in Antarctica but it’s still Spring here. Waddle or walk into this class and you will leave with a smile on your face and a darling Penguin Box by Makoto Yamaguchi. The model is a cute, chubby penguin which you can open up to a box. Perhaps a few chocolate eggs would be suitable to find inside. Let Jake be your guide on this polar adventure.
Sakuradama - Cherry Blossom Ball
Dazzle your friends and family with this spectacular kusudama of Cherry Blossoms. The decorative ball consists of 5-petalled flowers and is made from 30 units. However, looks can be deceiving because each unit actually spans two adjacent flowers and lock together firmly. Alice will show you all the intricacies of the construction and you will be amazed at the beauty of the flowers with its curved petals.
Chibi Dragon
Don’t be frightened…by the dragon or the folding sequence. Reed will help you tame this 3D dragon by Jo Nakashima out of a single sheet (preferably tissue foil). The model starts with some pre-creases which then collapse into a base from which the wings, body, head and tail are formed. Familiarity with inside/outside reverse folds, pleats and sinks is helpful. The fun begins with shaping the head and tail to give it a special flair and to help it stand on its own.
