Family Fun - Action Models
Origami models that move are always fun! Join Wendy to make origami that jump, fly, and spin. This class is a great opportunity for families to explore the magic of origami together. No experience is necessary. For children ages 8 and up. Adults without children are also welcome!
Recycled Paper Origami Flowers
You’ll be looking forward to junk mail after this class! Turn those pesky yet colorful circulars and flyers into a lovely bouquet of origami flowers. Toshiko will teach you how to fold and assemble 5 flowers from recycled paper. And where else to display your bouquet? A simple origami vase!
Origami Bags
Contain yourself! Call it a purse, a clutch, a bag, an envelope, it all depends how big you make it. Kay will teach a collection of cute yet practical models with a pocket where you can place a note, money, flat candy, or a surprise. And if time permits, she will teach you a surprise model not pictured here.
Rabbits
Hop to it and get those fingers moving! Starting with the traditional, Maria will help you tend to a hutch of rabbits including those by Edwin Corrie and Kunihiko Kasahara. Encourage them to hop, pose or puff up. Too bad the Year of the Rabbit is not for another 6 years…but you’ll be ready!
Slalom Kayak
All along the waterfront, urban kayakers are enjoying the waters of spring! You can join in the fun by folding Max Hulme’s great kayak, kayaker and paddle. Whether it’s whitewater or flat water, Donna won’t let you sink with this cool compound model.
Twofer - This Class is Cancelled
SORRY! THIS CLASS IS CANCELLED.
However, it is the Year of the Rooster and this month features these delightful originals by Talo. His new origami rooster and hen has clever color changes that make this a prideful pair of poultry. The rooster is a high intermediate compound model that includes a simple coxcomb.
It's in the Bag - This Class is Cancelled
SORRY! THIS CLASS IS CANCELLED.
The title says it all! Learn a selection of bags to fit many a need. Gift cards, coins, and even larger objects can fit neatly into one of these practical models resulting in an outstanding presentation that will wow any lucky recipient. Indulge your inner fashionista and make a bigger one to tote around your papers.
Rocking Songbird with Pocket
Let your imagination soar! Here’s a neat little multifunction model that is sure to amuse. It’s a pretty songbird that rocks back and forth. But it also has a pocket to hold small objects. Use it to hold decorations like dried flowers, or use it as a place-card holder to brighten up your brunch table. More birds will be taught as time permits.
30-piece Sonobe with 5-color Weave
A modular, a decoration, a puzzle, all in one! How do you put a 30 piece modular together so that no two pieces touching are the same color? That’s the focus of this marvelous class. Nathan will show you how to fold and assemble this classic modular of Sonobe units with particular attention on how to put the pieces together in a 5-color weave.
Sandy's Wired Wreath
I can’t believe that’s origami! Well, it’s woven rather than strictly folded, but the classic traditional Swedish Star is the basis for this truly spectacular creation. Learn how to make several Swedish Stars and then string them onto a floral wire circle to make a beautiful wreath. Sandy will provide enough paper for practice and for a full wreath, along with printed instructions, wire, and a plastic wreath carrier. Please note that this modular project requires 22 stars, each out of 4 woven strips…be prepared to be busy!
White Shark
Cue creepy shark music! Add to your sealife collection without getting wet (unless of course you wet fold one) with this great white shark. This bird base model has an easy-to-follow folding sequence that should not scare any intermediate folder comfortable with squashes, crimps and sinks.
