Puppy Love uses an arbitrary rectangle; 4:5 or a bit longer yields an attractive proportion. The length of the middle section connecting the hearts on each end is the rectangle's length minus its width. Using a square eliminates the connector. Use a square and shape the heart upright instead of side-to-side to make the related Heart-to-Heart design.
