John Smith was an origami creator and thinker who passed away this year. He pioneered a type of folding called Pureland origami that used only valley and mountain folds. I will teach two of John’s Pureland flapping birds. The first uses only 5 folds, and is simple and forgiving. The second is a little more difficult, but both have excellent flapping action that does not tear or stress the paper.
