Beautiful Saar Stars frequently grace the Holiday Origami Tree at the AMNH. We'll start with the 5-pointed star and if time permits learn the 4-pointed original version as well. Students should be familiar with open sinks and petal folds. Accurate and crisp folding is necessary for best results. The 5-pointed star is folded from a pentagon, the 4-pointed star from a square. Scissors are needed to cut pentagons. Familiarity with open sinks and petal folds would be helpful. Bring paper from your survival kit to make initial practice stars. Foil will be provided to make final models.
