This is a listing of the Special Sessions for April 19, 2026, both morning and afternoon sessions.
Squirrel
No, squirrels don’t eat fish but this adorable one by Jun Maekawa starts with a fish base. This is the perfect model to practice your squash folds, pleats and inside reverse folds. Douglas will lead you through a satisfying sequence of easy steps to create this cute critter. So, come out of hibernation, flex your fingers and get cracking with your fellow origami nuts.
Tomoko Fuse Animals
You don’t often see the words Fuse and animals in the same sentence. But it’s true. The Queen of Modulars has also designed some delightful animals. Donna will introduce you to two of her favorites. The crawling caterpillar is a multi-piece model which you can make creep along and works best when made from 6-8 units. She will also teach a one-piece cat that looks ready to pounce.
Spaceships
3…2…1…lift off!!! Get ready to explore the heavens with this fun collection of spaceships, rockets and UFO’s by John. He will head mission control and get you trained to pilot these wonderful 3D creations. These are just some of his original works from his book Air and Space Origami. So, all you aspiring astronauts get set to have a blast…T minus 10…9…
Hearts
Valentine’s Day has come and gone but it’s never too early to start preparing for Mother’s Day (and Father’s Day too). Francis Ow has been known for his collection of origami hearts for decades and now is the time for you to rediscover them. Ginger will guide you through a selection of his easy models. Find those beautiful papers and give your Mom and Dad something from your heart.
Family Fun - Spring Models
Is it Spring already? Of course it is…the clocks have already sprung forward. Wendy will teach her favorite simple flowers and butterflies. This class is a great opportunity for families to explore the magic of origami together. No experience is necessary. For Family Fun (beginner) classes you must be at least 5 years old. Children between 5 and 8 must have a parent or guardian register and take the class with them. Adults not accompanying children are also welcome!
