Who is Origami University for?
Anyone and everyone! All skill levels and ages are welcome. Although Origami University is hosted by the Junior Board, that does not mean it is only for younger audiences! Adults are welcome too!
I don’t live in the US. Can I still participate?
Yes, everyone can participate! Time zones shown on the website automatically adjust to your local time zone.
Will session recordings be available?
Yes, session recordings will be available for all days for which a ticket was purchased. For example, if a ticket for Geometric and STEM days was purchased, recordings for Geometric and STEM days will appear on the Origami University website after those respective days. When recordings are available, an email reminder will be sent to those registered.
Do I have to pay for session recordings?
Yes, session recordings can be purchased with a normal ticket.
Do I need to register for each specific class?
No, classes do not require specific tickets. For example, registering for the Geometric day will grant access to all Geometric day classes.
When is the deadline for registration for the first day and class?
There is no strict deadline for registration. If you register before the day, you will have access to the zoom links before the event. If you register after a specific day, you will not be able to attend the classes live, but you will still have access to the recordings. In other words, registering for Intro day after Intro day happens will still give you the recordings.
Can non-members of OrigamiUSA register?
Absolutely, non-members of OrigamiUSA can register. The ticket price is the same for members and non-members to encourage newer-to-origami folders to participate.
What is the OrigamiUSA Junior Board?
Origami University is being hosted by the Junior Board. In 2025, we formed a Junior Board to engage and empower younger members of the paperfolding community by allowing them to take an active role in the organization. Junior Board members are 13-21.

During the Event

How do I use Gather.town? Can I access it from my phone? Is there guidance for etiquette?
Instructions for how to use Gather are here. You can access it on your phone, but it may be easier to control and move around in on a computer or laptop. Rules and etiquette are outlined in the website page, and Junior Board moderators will be facilitating the Gather throughout the event.
If I register for four days, can I attend different tracks within the same day?
Yes, you can attend different tracks within the same day as long as you are registered for that day.
Will I be able to attend the Zoom rooms from my phone?
Yes, you can attend Zoom rooms on your phone.
How do I switch between Zoom rooms?
Links to zoom rooms will be on the website, so you can switch between rooms by exiting one zoom room and clicking on the other link on the website. All the links and information will be activated on the website a few days before the respective day.
Can I skip classes?
Yes, you can skip classes.
How long might I have access to class recordings after registration?
Access to the recordings will exist indefinitely, and recordings will be posted a few weeks after the event.
Is there a class limit for each class?
There is no class limit.
When will merch orders end?
Merch orders will end April 14, 1:00 pm EDT.
When will I receive my merch?
Merch orders for clothing made using Custom Ink have a print minimum requirement, so delivery is expected around the end of April. Merch orders for other items made using Redbubble print on-demand, so delivery will be listed at checkout.
