Sakura Star

Ali designed and folded this fabulous Sakura Star from a single pentagonal sheet of paper. He likes the versatility of the base. It can be shaped in many different ways and folded from pentagons and hexagons! Sakura Star can be folded as a flat model suitable for a greeting card or shaped with the center petals curled to make this model more 3D. The one that I will be teaching is published in Origami USA 2014 Collection. Bonus diagrams (with Ali Bahmani's kind permission) of "Spring Sakura Star" (more challenging, twist variation) will be handed out at the end of the class and will not be taught. Please be comfortable with squashes, petal folds and swivel folds.
