Fans of Pokemon or Mythical Beasts will enjoy my Firebird. It is named Ho-Oh in the Pokemon series and it has sacred fire abilities that bestow good fortune and enable powerful god-like attacks. The rare creature is known to shine like a rainbow and my model allows students to decorate the paper with any color they desire. The end result is inside out coloring on the head, tail and wings. The model can be shaped in any way the folder desires, with variations such as an extended wingspan or a flight pose. The model is folded from a diagonal of a square (the triangle portion). It consists of squashes, reverse folds, and inside out folding (since the end product is double colored). Knowledge of these techniques is required since the model is considered complex. Folders should also come prepared with the triangular sheet (split from a square). The paper should be 10 to 12 inches at least. The best type to use is double tissue, tissue foil or regular foil. Folders may choose to have their sheet be double colored.
