This butterfly model has a simple-looking front, but has antennae. It’s not as easy as it looks! It’s relatively easy to modify the final model to alter the shape of the wings. Folding the model includes rabbit-ear folds, squash folds, petal folds, swivel folds, an open sink… Recommended paper size is at least 6” (15cm); less experienced folders should use larger paper.

Bibliography

I taught this once online, but I don’t remember for which group and I’m not sure if the video is available anywhere (and if so, it’s in Spanish). It has not been diagrammed.

Supplies

One square of standard origami paper, at least 6” (15cm); less experienced folders should probably use larger paper (such as 8” or 20cm).
