We would like to get a rough count of who is interested in joining us on the Monday tour. Price will be determined by how many people go and by what size bus we end up reserving – the range is $40 to $70 at the moment. (If you have registered for PCOC, you will have received this information and query via email.)
Tentative highlights of the tour:
8:30 AM – pickup at hotel
Stopping at:
1) Mountain Valley Paper Company warehouse in South San Francisco (my new business with partner June Sakamoto). You can oogle our warehouse filled with the 300 styles of full sheet papers from Thailand, and our Toyo line of origami papers (which are all available at Paper Tree in Japan Town or Miki’s Paper in Berkeley). You can’t purchase direct, however you will have an opportunity to buy any of our discontinued and damaged sheets, plus visit our “fill-your-own scrapbags” for $10.
2) Flax’s – their paper section is HUGE. OR, we can head over to Berkeley to visit Miki’s Paper, and there is a Paper Source and Scrapbook Warehouse all on Fourth Street shopping area.
3) Scenic drive over to Bolinas on the coast. Lunch stop along the way.
4) Bolinas Museum – visit the Origami Exhibition featuring Robert Lang, Bernie Payton, Linda Mihara, Goran Konjevod and Christine Edison. Bolinas Museum.
Enjoy other scenic stops along the way time permitting. Return to the hotel around 5:30-6:00 PM.
Please send a quick email to: pcoc-info [at] origamiusa.org if you are interested in joining the tour – this will not obligate you, we just need to gauge interest. Thanks very much.
