The Challenge

The design challenge for PCOC 2015 is Legends of Colorado. Any legend related to Colorado is fair game. Entries can range from true-to-life animal legends, like the ever-faithful Prunes the Burro or the amazing Headless Chicken, to the mythological, like the Colorado River Dinosaur, Fur-Bearing Trout, or the tourist- hating, Slide-Rock Bolter. You could even fold a model of a mysterious place, like the Crystal Carnival Ice Palace or the Mountain of the Holy Cross, or perhaps a fantastical contraption like a Colorado Wind Wagon or a vehicle from the Boulder County Kinetic Sculpture race. How about entering a model of one of the people that made Colorado famous, like the Unsinkable Molly Brown, Wild Bill Hickok or even the macabre Alfred Packer, the only survivor of the ill-fated Donner party? Whatever you choose to fold is sure to create its own legend.

The Rules

All entries should be folded from a single uncut square piece of paper. The designs do not need to be original, but should include a display card clearly listing the creator and folder, as well as the title of the work and the type and size of paper used.

How To Enter

PCOC Attendees may bring their entry directly to the challenge display table upon arriving at the convention. For those not attending or not wishing to travel with their models, entries may be mailed prior to September 25, to:

Will Krebs
750 Weber Dr.
Alamosa, CO 81101

All entries will be returned at the end on the convention, but must be picked up in person, by the folder or a designee. Uncollected models will be kept by Origami Boulder and may be used for public display.

Judging

Over the course of the convention, ballots will be provided and collected from all attendees wishing to vote. These ballots will be tallied by the convention organizers and the winner will be announced at the end of the convention.
