Lodging
One of the most exciting things about this date and location is that it’s the first weekend of the Balloon Fiesta, and the hotel, the Marriott Pyramid Hotel, is right at the edge of the field. You can see the sky filled with balloons from the hotel! It’s also very close to the Arts and Crafts Fair, with 280+ arts, crafts, and food vendors. Our room rate is a real bargain for Balloon Fiesta weekend, and the rooms are very large. The hotel is atrium style, with lots of meeting space, including adequate break-out rooms.
If you’d like to get a flavor of what the Balloon Fiesta is like, take a look at these webcam views from 2011.
Our room block is sold out. However, cancellations do happen so contact Patty Grodner, origamimommy [at] mac.com and she will help you with getting a room.
Also remember that these are reservations only, and you do not have to pay yet. We will maintain a list of those who have reserved at the higher rate, and transfer reservations of people who cancel. If you have reserved a room and your plans have changed, please DO NOT cancel your room through official Marriott channels. Contact us and we will work with the local hotel staff to transfer reservations. You will receive formal notification from the hotel that your reservation has been canceled, and we will be able to use your less expensive reservation for people on the wait list.
If you have made a reservation for yourself, and you are now interested in sharing a room, please email us and we will try to match you up with someone who needs a room. Similarly, if you do not yet have a room, but are interested in sharing, please email.
We will try to compile a list of alternate hotels, but during Balloon Fiesta weekend it is possible for every hotel room in town to be sold out. If you haven't made any reservations yet, now is the time to do it.
