This advanced modular model can be assembled in a traditional 30 unit icosahedral kusudama shape. However, the beauty of this model, and others by this author, is that there is significant flexibility in which polyhedron the final product can be. This class will teach the unit and how to create a truncated hexahedron.
Supplies:
No special supplies needed but tweezers or a glue stick can be useful.
Advisories:
- This will likely take longer than the completed class time to complete.
- This is a modular/composite requiring 36 sheets.
- - Best paper: two color duo kami, 3"/7.5 cm
- We will not make all of the units necessary to complete the model during class time but I suggest having enough of the paper you will use so you can complete it later. You can make a final product with only 30 units if you prefer.
- The assembly is fairly simple but the unit itself has a detailed folding sequence and requires precision. Precisely cut paper is ideal. I will provide some 3" duo kami but cannot guarantee preferred or consistent color combinations for all students.
