This page contains important information about Convention registration. Please read through it all. Online registration forms are at the bottom.

If you have already registered but would like to add Monday dinner, the diagram book, and/or T-shirts to your existing registration, use the "Forgot Something" form.

If you plan to teach a class, we need you to register early so we can plan the class schedule. As in years past, classes are assigned based on your requests and your ticketing priority number; early registration also gets you a low (good!) priority number. See Ticketing for deadlines and eligibility details.

Registration Categories

Most people come to Convention to take classes all three days, of course! But you can come and take classes on just one or two days for a reduced fee, or just come as a guardian, aide, or companion of another folder. Please note: all minors must identify a guardian on their registration form.

The six registration categories and prices are below. Book and T-shirt prices are detailed on the Prices page. All book and T-shirts purchases are à la carte.

This table shows what each category can do. See the individual categories below for details.

Guardians for Young Attendees

Young attendees (under age 18) should be registered under their own name. A space on the young attendee’s registration form is provided for specifying a guardian’s name.

An on-site guardian may be required depending on the age of the young attendees (see table below). If so, the guardian should register separately under their own name. A fee is required if the guardian will be taking classes.

Young Attendee Age Guardian Registration Action
9 and under

Required: A guardian must register as either With Classes (see options above) or as Guardian (without access to classes).

For this age group, it is strongly recommended that the guardian register as With Classes and fold along with their young attendee.

10 to 13

Required: A guardian must register as either With Classes (see options above) or as Guardian (without access to classes).

14 to 17 Not required: For this age group, having a guardian present is optional.

A guardian that is registered as Guardian will be given a badge that allows them access to the Community Folding Room.

Guardians may purchase Monday dinner, the diagram book, and/or T-shirts on their registration form.

For guardians looking for a way to fill their time while their young attendee is in class at Convention, please consider volunteering!

Aide

Select this option if you are accompanying a person with disabilities (of any age) and are not taking classes.

  • You can accompany your convention attendee in the Community Folding Room on any of the days they are registered to attend.
  • You are invited to volunteer on any day of Convention.
  • Price: no charge.

Non-folders who are accompanying a person with disabilities may register as an aide without charge. The rules for aides are the same as for guardians above:

  • Only one or two aides may register for the person they are aiding;
  • Aides and the person being aided must list who they're with on their registration forms;
  • Only one aide at a time may accompany the person in the Community Folding Room;
  • Only folders registered to take classes may enter the classrooms.

Aides may purchase Monday dinner, the diagram book, and/or T-shirts on their registration form.

Companion

Select this option if you will be attending a meal and/or wish to volunteer but will not take classes or spend time in the Community Folding Room.

  • You will not be permitted to go into any of the folding classrooms or the Community Folding Room.
  • You are invited to volunteer on any day of Convention.
  • Price: no charge.

Companions may purchase Monday dinner on their registration form.

Notifications via Email

We will be making several important announcements via email to registered attendees. Note that if you have selected "No Email from OrigamiUSA" in your Privacy settings, you won't receive these, so please visit your Privacy settings and make sure that box is unchecked.

Ordering T-Shirts and/or The Collection

You can order one or more Convention T-shirts and/or the 2025 Collection on your registration form for pickup at Convention. However, you must pick them up from The Source during its open hours on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday or pay for shipping fees to get them delivered to your home after Convention. See the Shirts and Book page for details.

Buying the Monday Dinner

You can buy the Monday Dinner on your registration form. Each person attending the Monday dinner must fill out their own separate registration form to register for the dinner. The dinner is held at Carmine’s Restaurant and is a wonderful (and delicious) way to end your Convention.
