The Amazing Race Origami Style
Get ready to compete in The Amazing Race with an origami twist.
When: Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 8:00 pm.
Where: 3rd Floor, Empire Ballroom
This is how it works: Each station contains a challenging task. You will have 3 minutes to complete it as a team. Station judges will sign your team’s passport with the amount of time it took you to complete the task. Once you have been to all stations the teams that completed all tasks in the shortest amount of time win The Amazing Origami Race! The winners will immediately be taken to a Lear jet and flown to the Maldives for a week (*) while the other teams stay in New York City to enjoy more folding.
Everyone has what it takes to participate!
- All tasks are origami related and open to all ages and skill levels.
- No pre-conference preparation is needed to participate.
- We will likely be able to accommodate around 64 participants.
- If you choose not to compete consider volunteering to be a judge. It’s as much fun as the game itself and takes no prior experience. No matter what, we hope you will watch and cheer on the teams.
For 2025 we have made a simpler process for all who would like to race around the world, origami style. There will be no team sign up ahead of time. This year, teams will be created at 8:00 pm and the game will start shortly after. If you know who you would like to be on your team in advance that’s fine, too. Just make sure everyone is there for 8:00 pm. We recommend ensuring you have the contact information for your teammates ahead of time.
