The model is made from a hexagon. Nothing is required of the student as I will provide pre-cut hexagons of Canson art paper. We will be folding an 8th triangle grid in class.

12 to 30 sheets of Kami

10"x10" paper is recommended for folding this model for the first time and will be provided, but 6"x6" paper is doable and more appropriate size of a marigold. The leaf is folded out of 1:4 paper (2"x10" to pair with a flower folded out of 10"x10"/ 1.5"x6" to pair with a flower folded out of 6"x6"). A bone folder is helpful but not required.

Standard Kami is fine.

6" square of Tant or similar in any shade of pink or red. Color copy paper is fine too but needs to be cut into a 6" square prior to class.

Bring an uncut square of foil, 10" or larger. Alufoil ("American foil") is fine.

Standard single sided kami will work fine. Suggested size at least 6 inch/15 CM.

I will provide (3) sheets of 6" kami for everyone!
6 in is best size. As the paper gets bigger so does the model's structure and ability to stand on its own.
Kami with 2 diff colors will work best.
The color side is the Owl's robe so be mindful of this when selecting paper.

Three sheets of 35cm x 35 cm paper. The two sides must be different colors. Duo paper in varied colors recommended. Colored on one side and white on the other will also work. Pre-fold each into a bird base. Bone folder and/or tweezers recommended.

6 inch colored origami paper - four different colors.

A sheet of paper above 20cm is advised, as there are some parts that get quite small. Make sure the paper is not too thick. There are some color change parts of the dragon, so duo colored paper is also recommended. Kami will still work fine for this model.

Square sheets of papers, ideally non-metallic origami paper, as it can be difficult later in the folding process. Different sizes and colors of paper recommended. (The model in the picture is 7" and is folded from a 10" x 10" square sheet of paper).

Four (or three) squares the same size, and a means of cutting three of them in half (bring your own scissors, or cut in advance), or one square and six 1:2 (or 1:3) rectangles cut from the other three (or two) squares. Suggested starting size is (4 differently-coloured squares of) 15cm kami.

Any size Kami or Tant will do!
