Designed and folded by Brian Chan. This model was inspired by the recent new film. I decided to depict the dragon in high relief and with fine detail rather than a flat color change silhouette. In this way I felt it would give a more imposing impression.

In Japanese tradition and art, the crane and the tortoise (or turtle) go together (called Tsurukame) as symbols of long life and prosperity; here, they are united in an 8-unit modular design.

Wet folded from a square of 640gsm watercolour paper. CP would be deludedly simple - 3 curved crimps along an imaginary diagonal. Folding it is a bit of a battle :)
