Packing Suggestions
- Bring a portable light (not all of the rooms are as bright as you might like for folding).
- Bring a sweater (it gets cold in Hospitality because of the air conditioning).
If you already have a reservation, but are planning to cancel, do not contact the hotel or cancel online; instead, please contact the convention committee at convention-info [at] origamiusa.org, as we will be able to transfer your reservation to another attendee.
Where to Go When You Arrive
When you enter the hotel, check-in is on the left; banks of elevators are on the right.
At the end of the main lobby, there is a ramp off to the right, which you will follow to get to the Convention activities (typically after you've dropped off your bags at your room).
Elevators
The elevators in the hotel are somewhat unusual. First, there are two separate banks of elevators that access different sets of floors, so when you learn your room, check out which bank of elevators to use for your room and events.
Second, instead of selecting your floor inside the elevator, you'll push a button for your floor outside the elevator, then watch for the elevator to arrive that will include your floor as a destination (your floor number will appear outside the elevator). Once you're inside an elevator, there's no way to select a different floor.
Parking
Parking is $65 per night for hotel guests. Here are some alternatives:
Daily Parking: Many nearby parking lots are less expensive than the hotel. Google lists many options, as does spothero.com.
Overnight parking: Most nearby private facilities are as expensive as the hotel (see previous links). You might consider driving to the NY Waterway ferry terminal in NJ, parking there, and taking the ferry to NY Midtown. Waterway buses will drop you only a few blocks from the hotel. Overnight parking is $20 per day, and the ferry is $9.

These are the spaces we will be using at the hotel:
Third Floor
- Hospitality - New York Ballroom
- Registration - New York Ballroom Foyer
- Sales - Riverside Ballroom and Riverside Suite
- Exhibition - Liberty 1, 2, 3
- ATC and Pin Swap - Carnegie East
- Classrooms on this floor are: Carnegie East, Liberty 4, Liberty 5.
Fifth Floor
- Classrooms on this floor are Madison and Park Suites.
Lower Level
- This floor is all classrooms.
- The Airplane Contest will be done in the hallway on Sunday at 12:15pm (meet outside Bowery).
- On Monday night from 8:00 pm–midnight we will have Late Night Folding in Bowery.
Food
On Monday night, we will hold a "We Survived!" dinner at a nearby restaurant, Dallas BBQ. Sign up on your registration form; details are here.
Other meals are not included at Convention 2023, but there are many local restaurants to choose from. This list of nearby restaurants has links to their menus and websites.
In the hotel lobby there are two places to get food:
