We encourage members to consign books, paper and other objects to be sold at Convention. Space is limited, so we must be advised of intent to consign earlier than two weeks before the convention, by email or completion of the consignment registration form below. Consignor must advise us of type of items, description, quantity, desired retail price and any other pertinent information, and should not ship the items until advised of agreement.
If you are vending, and wish to sell your non-competing books, you can sell them on your vendor table, if approved by The Origami Source. Please see the Vendor page for more information.
If OrigamiUSA agrees that the items are appropriate for our attendees, Consignor should ship to the OrigamiUSA office at 15 West 77 Street, New York, NY 10024 (clearly marked "Consignments") or bring items to The Origami Source sales area Friday afternoon from 3pm–5pm. Note that sample models made from the paper or books are desirable, along with a complete description.
Items may be consigned with Right of Return (i.e., unsold items will be returned to Consignor after convention) or if The Origami Source staff agrees, sold outright to OrigamiUSA. Minimum commission for items consigned with Right of Return will be 10%. Minimum commission for items sold outright will be 20%. Unsold "Right of Return" items must be picked up by 6 pm on Monday. Otherwise, they will be shipped back at the Consignor's expense.
Note that if the item is a book that is not yet available in the OrigamiUSA library, we ask that one copy be donated to the library, or provided at a substantial discount.
Payment will be made in person for overseas Consignors, or by check within two weeks.
