Special Requirements: The hardest part of folding this model by far is two closed sinks (one on each side). Besides this step, the model is intermediate-level. If you've done a few closed sinks before, you'll have no problem.Recommended paper is 6" kami. Getting the dog to balance can require a lot of patience, so be prepared to deal with frustration!

This model is a dish with three curved sections, folded from a circle. A square has four edges and four corners -- the circle has only one edge, but an infinite number of corners. In this class, we will put that odd property to good use.

The model will be taught and diagrams will be distributed as well. This beautiful tortoise is cleverly designed from a simple pig base accompanied by an enjoyable folding process. The final base can be achieved without too much difficulty for a high-intermediate to complex folder but the shaping is the difficult part as it will take a bit of effort and manipulation to go from the base to the final shaped result. It is likely that the first attempt will not be perfect, so folders are encouraged to practice in class and perfect the model afterwards, perhaps with more suitable paper.

Special Requirements: Japanese and American foil will both be provided if the folder is content with a white turtle. The foil is the easiest way to achieve the shape without wet folding with thicker papers (eg. elephant hide). Folders should be comfortable with sinks, swivels, inside and outside reverse folds, and "playing" with the model and manipulating the paper to reach the desired shape. NOTE: Folding from the provided paper will have a color changed tail. The white sample turtle is 35x35 Japanese foil and the yellow turtle is 30x30 tissue foil.

In this class, I will teach a mask of the god Pan (or of a faun), a model I designed in 2018 using what I call the "rhombase." I recommend using 10"/25cm paper, although it can be folded from 6"/15cm paper as well. Kami works fine, although tissue foil is good for extra shaping.

Special Requirements: This model includes multiple rabbit ear folds, petal folds, reverse folds, and squash folds. Students must understand these folds and be comfortable executing them on their own.

It takes 30 units; we'll plan to fold at least 10 during the class time, enough to demonstrate how to put the units together (which gets a bit tricky because there are flaps all over the place until it's assembled).

Special Requirements: Assembly is enormously aided if you bring a whole bunch of binder clips to hold things together during the assembly. They're not needed once everything is fully together.

There are many, many origami cubes -- this is one of my favorites and is not, I think, widely known. It is larger than the waterbomb, with 36.5% more volume, and hides most of its structural parts on the inside. It can be folded in such a way that five of the faces will have no creases on them, making it a good vehicle for graphics or photos. And its crease pattern has a strange and interesting relationship with the number thirteen.

In this class, you will be taught how to fold one molecule and then a 2 x 2 segment of this tessellation. Crease patterns, diagrams, and paper will be provided. Although it is a very challenging model, the result is gratifying. A must-take class for any advanced tessellation enthusiasts!

Special Requirements: Students attending this class must be comfortable with advanced tessellations. This model has 3D twists involving many creases coming together, making the collapse very hard. Dexterity with finicky collapses and knowledge of rotational tessellations is paramount for taking this class. Experience in folding from crease patterns is also recommended.

This is a fairly simple 8 piece modular wreath. By manipulating certain flaps on each module before or after assembly and choosing paper colors, you can make a Christmas wreath, Valentine wreath, summer leaf wreath, Halloween wreath, etc. The model I plan to teach in this class needs 6' square sheets, but I also plan to show variations that use half-square triangles. If I have enough time to make one of those, I will need scissors. I will bring about 10 pairs with me.

This is a high intermediate dragon model that I designed. This is a fun model to fold. The dragon has wings from one side of the paper and the body from the other side.

Special Requirements: Students should be able to perform crimps, double rabbit ears, rabbit ears, and closed and open sinks. The folding needs to be precise and accurate so that the wings will be symmetrical and clean. 10-inch kami will work but additional papers will be provided for the class.

This cube is made from one piece of paper -- a 12" square sheet makes a 3" cube which opens out from the top. It closes securely, but opens easily by holding the two top tabs. Two-sided paper yields a box which shows the main color with the top tabs in the reverse color. Great gift or candy box.

Special Requirements: This model requires the folder to divide an odd shape into thirds. But don't let that scare you - it is do-able! Perfectly square paper and accuracy will definitely yield a better result. Paper will be provided.

Learn Hoang Tien Quyet's lovely 5-petal sakura (cherry blossom) from a one-sheet 7 5/8-inch (20 cm) pink pentagon. It yields approximately 4 3/8-inch (10.5 cm) sakura. We will fold one variation to finish the sakura center in class, more if time permits. The sakuras in my picture menu show you at least three ways to complete the center of the flower.

Special Requirements: The model is folded from a pre-cut pentagon. Be comfortable folding sinks, pleats and swivel folds. Some folds do not have landmarks.

Deb Pun will teach Kamikey's folding method to create a layered hydrangea flower folded from a waterbomb base. Kamikey's method does not use a series of precreases to create a square grid. In class, you will fold a hydrangea from 6-inch or 10-inch plain kami. The hydrangeas in the picture menu were folded from Soft Harmony origami paper, Corona Harmony origami paper and Dreamy Colour origami paper.

Note: Cutting is needed only to cut an octagon from a square.

Dave Brill's wonderful origami version of the traditional Japanese measuring box, or "masu." Unlike the simple traditional piece, this version has depth to the sides of the box, is very sturdy, and locks together beautifully.

Special Requirements: Folded from A-proportioned paper (provided in class) this piece requires a good bit of (accurate!) pre-creasing, followed by a challenging but very rewarding 3D collapse.
