One piece of paper, regular 8 - 10 inch kami (color on one side and white on the other) would do. It is important to see the crease lines. For a second model, you can go bigger with slightly thicker scrapbook paper or card stock (make sure it is square). It is a model to show off fancy paper.

While the model can be assembled without glue, some glue can help strength the assembly and keep the layers of paper from opening up.
A single piece of origami paper (kami) is recommended. A 25 x 25cm or 26 x 26cm sheet will be fine. For the really experienced folders that enjoy a special challenge, this model is very achievable with 15 x 15cm paper or smaller. A single square of larger kami is recommended (10"/25cm). With more practice you can use smaller sheets.
No supplies are required. but having an 8x8 grid and a pen on hand may help you visualize some of my processes.
You need 6 rectangles that are each a half-square and the same size as each other. Unless you are super comfortable with small paper I recommend that you use 15 cm squares cut in half, or larger, for learning. Both sides of the paper show --- that is what gives it a "circus tent" effect. Paper that works well: Regular kami (i.e., white on the back), duo that is solid on both sides, duo that is print on one side and plain on the other side, duo foil or foil that is white on the back. You can see from the photos what different effects you can get from various paper choices. You can also see that the module for the square can be used in different numbers to fold many different polyhedra.
We’ll start with kami, but I’ll provide some lovely paper, too.
