This hornbill is made out of grafted bird base, with asymmetric flap utilization to form the different features and color changes. The bird is sexually dimorphic, and the model's base can be shaped to female (blue) or male (yellow). I will teach the female version, and show the alternative shaping to fold the male version. Experienced folder is welcome to fold two models at the same time and finish the female & male version.
Advisories:
- Participants must be familiar with closed sink, swivel fold, reverse fold, and layer unwrap.
To keep the class flowing smoothly, please refrain to: 1) chat with each other about class-unrelated topics, 2) predict what's the next step, and 3) groan.
Supplies:
Two colored paper, 24 cm (10 inch) -- per bird.
Regular origami paper (kami) works well.
If you are confident to fold two birds at the same time, prepare 2 papers.
